Competitive analyses

"a phase in the design process, examining all information unearthed in the orientation phase to best understand, assess, strategize, and move forward with the assignment."(textboo page #238)Of course there are always people and other companys that are to compete aganst and the ones we would be competeing against are companys like Bose, Skullcandy and Sunnheiser. Out of all of these we happen to be the better known one and we are also the only one that mainly sells and advertises for there product. Because this is are compition we dont have to worry about price the cost of these are all in the 100 to 500 doller range." junior art directors should understand how the design process works at every level and stage."(textbook page #321)The problem with the competitors we have is that some of them also have a strong following. How we plan to fix that is we are going after a different age group and also with a different approce to how we are going to promote are self to our targeted age group."In an overcrowded, competitive marketplace, relevant and engaging branding can ensure efficacy for a quality product, service, group, individual, or commodity. Not only does branding identify and distinguish, it builds equity (the value of the brand or group)."(textbook page #177)

name of product: slogan

"The tagline is the catchphrase that conveys the brand or group's benefit or spirit and expresses an umbrella theme or strategy for a campaign or a series of campaigns; it also is called a claim, end line, slogan, or strap line."(textbook page #83)The name of the product is Beats By Dre.the products name carrys a lot of weights on its own simply because it has a very strong reputation of being of amazing quality having a pair myself i know first hand of this amazing quality.now as for the slogan i came up with it because of the targeted buyers we are trying to get to buy are product. we are trying to get young adults to take an interist, and as of right now with are bizzy econimy many young adults find it easyer just to lisen out of there earbuds, well that might be easy but we arent looking for the easy group here we are going after the go getters of this age group the ones that fight hard for there dream and the ones that will do anything to get were they long to be and follow there passion for the arts. so that is hoe i came up with the slogan: "Because Your Almost There." to encrage people to keep going after there dreams and make the a reality."a catchphrase that conveys the brand benefit or spirit and generally acts as an umbrella theme or strategy for a campaign or a series of campaigns; also called a claim, end line, strap line, or slogan."(textbook page #127)

week 7 eoc: final

the pitch

Ad opens with a young man at his DJ station and in front of a huge crowed and the crowed is pumped and loving it. After a while of his sick crazy beats and runs, out of no were he gets hit in the head with a backpack the back drop fades and we see that he is on the bus. And the ad will close with
Beats by dre " because your almost there."

Beats by Dre
To complete this pitch this ads is to show people that beats by dre arent just for people that are already in the music buisness but to show you that if thats were you want to be that beats by dre is were you start. every one has to start some were and we want people to know that we can help you get were you want to go but the ad also shows that getting were you want to go doesnt come easy it has to be hard fought and souly won with your determination and belife in your self as well as the eqitment to get you there."Once you've written a line or the body copy, it is highly advisable to test it by saying it aloud. Does it sound stiff? Or like an annoying salesperson trying to sell you something? It should sound like something you'd say in conversation with a friend."(textbook page #103)

week 6 eoc: vintage ads

vintage ads
there very impotant to not only learn from but to perserve our history. we can look back on ads and recive a general discription and feel of what used to be. the enjoyment of vintage ads is very important simply because thats were a lot of great ideas happened such as nike and apple. with out these commercals we might know what we have know you never know what apple is because apple got its big start because of these early commercals. people were so intreged with what apple did with there first commercal that every one had to know what it was that they were selling and and apple the fuel to keep going and now we have things that just seem impossible just 10 years ago.

week 5 eco: Super Bowl Commercials

etrade baby   http://youtu.be/X4GZfvXx9Js

I personally love this ad and feel that it is very affective on the American people. Tho most my not know why exactly so here are what i beileave the reasons why, because people have an great attraction to babys. who doesnt love babys there cute and people at some point want one of there own i feel thats the side of the womens arrgument and i feel that the reason men take a likeing to it is becuse if there going to have kids they would want one that is super funny and could talk at an early age. For the people who maybe dont feel the same affection of haveing a baby there selling point would be that the ad is still funny and at the same time gets its point accross. thats why i love advertising, somthing so small and simple at first has word its way into peoples hearts and make peolpe feel involved in what is happening and understand the ad and in joy it at the same time. that i feel is the mark of a great ad, it makes you think, feel and under stand what is going on.

week 4 eoc: women in advertising

women in the advertising and in the ads back in the day were treated like lower class citizens.women in the work place had no say and when they did it was looked down upon. getting equal opportunity in the work place for women was an up hill battle and still today we ares till not taken completely seriously.but women in the ads was at the same low point if not worse back in the day but over time it became better and ads showed women being respected but lately women in ads have been on the down fall again. some ads with or towards women are completely disrespectful not only towered women, but women are willing to be seen this way by the public eye.  "While the flirtatious flight attendants were grounded years ago and the stereotypical housewife ads have been put out with the trash, women, in many cases, are still portrayed simply as sex objects."
